Sifnos

Sifnos belongs to the Western Cyclades, while the nearest islands are Kimolos, Milos and Serifos. Sifnos is the birthplace of Nikolaos Tselemendes, one of the most important Greek chefs of the 20th century, and has a great ceramic and culinary tradition, and is also considered a gastronomic destination.

The villages of Sifnos are Apollonia, the capital of the island, where it got its name from the God Apollo, Artemonas with an unparalleled architectural structure, Ano Petali, Exampela, Kato Petali, Katavati, and Kastro. It is worth noting that the Castle is one of the most important settlements that still preserves its medieval architecture.

The main beaches are located in Vathy, Platy Gialos, Seralia, Fasolou, Faro, Poulatis, Apokoftos, (characteristic point of the coast, Panagia tis Chrysopigi), Vroulidia, Herronissos (or Hersonissos), Kamares and in Glyfo.
