Leros

Leros is an island in the Aegean Sea, part of the Dodecanese. It is a lush, green island, with most of its terrain being flat with low hills. In fact, its name means "smooth and flat," derived from the ancient Greek word leuros.

The capital of Leros is Platanos, while its main port is Lakki, also known as Porto Lago. Leros has several smaller picturesque settlements, rich in vegetation, primarily fruit trees and olive groves, including Agia Marina, Lakki, Platanos, Alinda, Partheni, Panteli, Krithoni, and Xirokambos.

The island has many large, mostly organized beaches, such as Vromolithos, Agia Marina, Panteli, Alinda, Xirokambos, and Krithoni. There are also smaller, quieter, and more secluded beaches like Agios Spyridonas, Merikia and Agia Kioura.
