Kythnos

Kythnos is an island in the Western Cyclades, located between Serifos and Kea (Tzia), and is 1 hour and 30 minutes from Lavrio and nearly 3 hours from Piraeus. The island has two villages, Chora and Dryopida, as well as three main coastal settlements: the port of Merichas, Loutra with its thermal springs, and Panagia Kanala. Other smaller settlements include Agios Dimitrios, Episkopi, Kalo Livadi, and more.

Kythnos boasts over 90 beaches, all with crystal-clear waters. Some are relatively difficult to access, which enhances their uniqueness and natural beauty. The most famous beaches include Kolona, Alyki, Naoussa, Apokrousi (one of the largest), Gaidouromantra, Episkopi (an organized beach ideal for families), Lefkes, Loutra, Martinakia, and Megali Ammos.

A must-visit attraction is the Kythnos Cave, Katafyki, an impressive underground space located at an altitude of 190 meters above sea level. This site uniquely blends nature and human intervention, as it consists of both a natural cave and artificial mining tunnels.
