Kithnos

Kythnos is an island of the Western Cyclades which is located between Serifos and Kea (Tzia) and is 1.30 hours from Lavrio and almost 3 hours from Piraeus. On the island there are two villages, Chora and Dryopida and three main seaside settlements, the port of Merichas, Loutra with the thermal springs and Panagia Kanala. Other smaller settlements are Agios Dimitrios, Episkopi and Kalo Livadi etc.

Kythnos has over 90 beaches, all with crystal clear waters and some with a relative difficulty in accessing them, which, however, makes them of unique natural beauty. The best known are Kolona, Aliki, Naoussa, Apokrusi (also one of the largest), Gaidouromantra, Episkopi (organized and suitable for families), Lefkes, Loutra, Martinakia and Megali Ammos.

What the visitor deserves to explore is the cave of Kythnos, Katafiki, which is an imposing underground space at an altitude of 190 meters above sea level where nature and man are uniquely intertwined, because it consists of the natural cave and artificial galleries mine.
