Kefalonia

Kefalonia is the largest island of the Ionian Sea and belongs to the Ionian Islands with Argostoli as its capital.

It is a green island with beaches of unimaginable beauty, with pines, cypresses, olives and the Black Fir Forest on Mount Ainos, where the vines from which the famous white wine, Robola, is produced are grown on its slopes.

Apart from Argostoli and Lixouri the two largest cities of the island, the villages are said to number over 300, while there is an old belief that the villages number 365, one for each day of the year. We typically mention Fiskardo, Assos, Sami, Katsarata, Germenata, Katelios, etc.

The most beautiful beaches of Kefalonia are Myrtos, Skala, Petani, Makris Gialos, Antisamos, etc
