Hydra
Hydra is an island in the Saronic Gulf, with its capital, Hydra Town, being the only settlement on the island. Hydra is a cosmopolitan island that has been loved by many celebrities, both from Greece and abroad. It is known for its unique charm, artistic atmosphere and historical significance.
In Hydra, you won’t hear the sounds of car engines or tires on the road, as vehicles are not allowed on the island. Transportation is done by bicycle, on foot, by water taxi, or by donkeys. The houses in Hydra are all beautiful, old mansions. The island’s architecture has remained unchanged since the 18th and 19th centuries.
There are several beaches, but most can only be accessed by water taxi. Some options include Vlychos, Molos, Bisti, and Mikro Kamini, as well as Hydroneta and Spilia, which feature stone slabs and stairways from which visitors can dive into the deep blue waters.
