Evia

Evia, with Chalkida as its capital, is the second largest island of Greece and extends along the northeastern mainland of Central Greece, from the Gulf of Maliakos to opposite the coast of Rafina, separated from it in order from northwest to southeast by the North Euboean Gulf, the Euripus strait at the height of Chalkida and finally the South Euboean gulf. It can be accessed in four ways, both by sea and by road. From the port of Rafina to Marmari approaching South Evia, from Oropos by ferry boat to Eretria (Central Evia), from Agia Marina Marathon to Nea Styra (South Evia) and by road from Athens via the Chalkida Bridge.

The northern part of Evia is full of beauty with verdant mountains, waterfalls and dense pine forests. There we meet Limni Evias an amazing settlement, Rovies, Agia Anna, the thermal baths of Edipsos and Lihadonisia, a cluster of islands with amazing beaches. Wonderful beaches are also Pandermos, Tsokaiti, Agios Nikolaos and Kanatadika.

South Evia really has everything. Magical beaches, picturesque villages, impressive gorges, mythical Dragon Houses, imposing mountains, high cliffs, vegetation, flowers and natural springs. The most popular villages are Karystos, Petalioi and Marmari. The beaches are enchanting such as Giannitsi and Mageiras beach, Varelaoi, Deliso, Kavos, Agioi Apostoloi and Megali Ammos.

And finally, Central Evia where the heart of the capital of Chalkida beats with the suspension bridge that connects the island to the mainland. The villages here are beautiful like Kymi, Seta, Psachna and Eretria. The most beautiful beaches are Chiliadou, Limnionas and Thapsa.
